Bluetooth Audio Receiver
Bluetooth technology is the ability to transmit information wirelessly and efficiently. The devices do not have to be in the line of site of each other as long as they are with in range. We first heard about Bluetooth technology through wireless headsets. We use these with cellphones, mostly so we can operate hands free. This comes in handy while we are driving or doing other duties while talking on the phone.
Some game systems have starting using Bluetooth technology. PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii use wireless Bluetooth controllers. This is so you don't have limited movement but also that you can sit as far away from the TV as you want to, within reason.
A Bluetooth audio receiver allows you to use the same technology with your home sound system. This is especially useful is all your music is on your computer, but your home sound system has much better speakers than your computer has. If your computer is Bluetooth enabled, all you have to do is plug in the Bluetooth audio receiver to your home sound system. It will then transmit the music wirelessly from your computer to your home sound system and the sound will then come out of your sound system speakers.
The Bluetooth audio receiver works the same way with a cellphone. If you have MP3 music on your phone you want to play out loud on better speakers, you can hook it up the same way. Just enable the Bluetooth connection on your cellphone. This pink model will go for about $77. They come in many colors, shapes and sizes. Most of the models are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and you can usually purchase them for under $100.
Some Bluetooth audio receivers actually have speakers built in. The yellow and orange ones at the top of the screen will produce the sound themselves. All you have to do is hook them into your MP3 player or cellphone with MP3s and it will automatically play the MP3s out loud itself. The sound will not be as high quality as that played out of a home sound system, but at least you would be able to hear your music louder than you would on your cellphone speakers or earbuds.
