The Enforcer

The Enforcer was Clint Eastwood's third movie in the Dirty Harry movie series.  It surprisingly took 3 years since the last one Magnum Force to come out.  Its stars obviously Clint Eastwood,  Tyne Daly, and DeVeren Bookwalter.  The enforcer was directed by James Fargo, and came out on December 22, 1976.

This Movie starts off with 2 gas company workers are lured into a dark area by a presumed prostitute, and killed by Bobby Maxwell (Deveren Bookwalter).  Maxwell's men take off with the uniforms and the gas company truck.  They are part of the PRSF (People's Revolutionary Strike Force).

Harry and his partner Frank DiGeorgio (John Mitchum), are called to respond to a liquor store robbery in progress.  Their are hostages involved, and Harry resolves the conflict by driving his police car into the liquor store and shooting the gang.  After he gets back to the station he gets a stern talking to by Captain McKay.  He tells Harry that he has been transferred from homicide to personnel, obviously this doesn't sit well with Harry.  The next day he is interviewing new prospects for inspectors, he is also told that 3 of the 8 new hires will be female.  This is where he meets Kate Moore, she is one of the females interviewing for the inspectors job.  Harry disapproves of this because she has never been in real action.  She has been a personnel inspector for nine years, and has never arrested anyone or been in any violent situations. 

Later that night the PRSF use the gas truck they stole earlier to get into the U.S. Army Armory to steal weapons for their movement.  Harry's partner and another officer find the dead guards body and confront the gang members.  While he has them at gun point the leader comes up behind him and stabs him in the back with a knife.  As DiGeorgio is going down he shoots one of the female gang members.  Maxwell leaves them

both for dead, in the hospital the next morning he tells Harry about the gang and tells him they were involved in a case from a couple years ago.  Soon after telling him he dies from the knife wound to the back.  After his death the new female inspector is assigned as Harry's new partner.

 

Later that day there is a bombing at the Hall of Justice, Harry and his new partner Inspector Moore chase after the bomber.  With help from a black militant group leader they get the bomber.  Captain McKay later arrests the militants and charge them with terrorism.

The last thing the militant group does is kidnap the Mayor of San Francisco.  Harry follows the gang to Alcatraz Island where their base is and a shootout begins.  Harry's new partner Inspector Moore warns Harry that he is about to get shot by Maxwell, but intern gets shot by him instead of Harry and dies.  Harry later shoots a M72 LAW rocket at Maxwell killing him.
