Games for 4 year olds

There are many good games that you can introduce to 4 year olds.  Many of them will help develop their thinking process, help with hand-eye coordination, and will help with there speech.  The best part about it is most of the games you can play with your 4 year old doesn't cost anything.  Many different things to help them mature their brain and thought process, as well as helping to establish hand-eye coordination.  

Some of these things you can do with them, get a balloon and blow it up and hit it in the air.  Try not to let it hit the ground, this will help with their coordination.  And it keep them active enough where they won't lose interest for a while.  Another good thing you use for this would be a big beach ball, they are a little more durable and you won't have to worry about them popping.

Another thing you can do it to sit down and have a drawing session, these are good with cognitive skills, and help establish their imagination.  Give them subjects to draw about and see what they come up with.  After you are done you can put it on the refrigerator, this helps with self worth and self esteem.

Puzzles games are another good way for 4 year olds to establish their hand-eye coordination.  Also help with their thought process as well, the better they do the bigger the puzzles you can get.  

Some other things you can do that don't cost anything at all is play hide and seek with your child.  This helps with your child's thought processes.  You can also make a treasure map or something that they would be able to figure out and leave some sort of their favorite candy as a treasure.  

Many different manufacturers are making video games for children that help them learn things that they need to know to develop reading, writing and other things.  Leapfrog products are a great example.  They make products that are able to grow with your child.  You buy the main video player and you can purchase little cartridges that help teach your child different things.  There are also games that they can play on the Internet on sites like Nick.com, Cartoon Network.com, and many other sites that will be made just for 4 year olds.  Will help get familiar with the computer, and also since they have to watch what they are doing it will help with attention.

Basic memory games are also a great idea to help with brain development.  Also more advanced puzzles are a good idea as well, they should be familiar with these and will know what they have to do if you had bought some peg puzzles when they were younger.
